IOT Radiator thermostat valve
Hi all,
I've had an idea for a while for a smart radiator thermostat valve. I have one of these that we can hack http://www.amazon.co.uk/Heizlux-HK-55/dp/B004LAT0J2 - it's not smart or connected though, as is everything else on the market.
The application I'm thinking is a retrofit product for business to better manage heating use (hotels, offices, schools etc.)
Lots of features we could work on (I'm sure you have more):
- Control it from an app
- Use an external temp sensor away from the radiator
- Control it via QR code and mobile browser
- Group radiators to a room
- Identify heating rate (to determine on time), when a window is open, when radiator isn't working etc.
- Sync it to an online calendar e.g. a meeting room booking
- Add a motion sensor and get it to learn room use patterns
- Display cost of heating a room to change behaviour
- Use weather information to understand heat loss from a room and timing requirements
- The list goes on...
